Step 1 - Drop off your vehicle
The repair process begins even before you leave your vehicle with us. Hi-Tech enjoys favorable relationships with all insurance companies and we are a direct repair facility for many companies, meaning Hi-Tech will assist the insurance company in writing the estimate, handling your claim, and negotiate with the insurance provider to ensure your vehicle is repaired properly. If your vehicle is driveable, Hi-Tech will preorder your parts to limit the time your vehicle is in the repair shop. If you decide not to file with an insurance company, the process would be the same. When it is time to drop off your vehicle, one of our service professionals will arrange for a rental vehicle to be waiting for you, or you can take advantage of our Easy Way Valet.
Step 2 - Parts ordered and painted
Once you drop off your vehicle, the repair of your vehicle starts in the body repair area of the facility. As repairs begin to take place, the body parts that need to be replaced are painted in our cut-in area. This is where the backside of panels or parts that cannot be accessed once they are on the vehicle are painted. Any part of the vehicle that needs to be repaired also takes place at this time by our I-CAR Gold Class technicians. All technicians receive training from I-CAR, the recognized standard for collision repair training.
Step 3 - Vehicle structure back to original spec.
When vehicle structure or frame damage is present, the vehicle is precisely measured and brought back to original manufacturers specs with the use of our Car-O-Liner computer based measuring and straightening system. Manufacture specifications require all vehicles to be repaired within 3 millimeters of the manufacture. Our system, Car-O-Liner, allows for up to 1 millimeter of tolerance. Now that auto repairs have been made in the body area, it is time to move to the paint department.
Step 4 - Vehicle is painted, buffed and reassembled
Once again I-CAR trained paint technicians apply their skill to your vehicle. We use only the highest quality materials and paint provided by ICI painting systems. The base coat is environmentally friendly waterborne. Our ICI Auto Color system is complete with a computerized paint mixing system that customizes each color based on a paint code direct from the manufacturer. This insures a color match and quality equal only to the manufacture. All painting is done in our state of the art down draft paint booths. When the painting process is complete, the vehicle is buffed and then goes back to the body Technician for reassembly.
Step 5 - Mechanical repairs, if needed
Now that your vehicle is completely reassembled, it will go, if needed, to the mechanical department of our shop. Our facility has full-time I-Car trained mechanics should your vehicle need an alignment, an air bag replacement, or any suspension repair. After mechanical repairs are completed, your vehicle goes into our detail department.
Step 6 - Cleaned and final inspection
Here your vehicle is vacuumed, washed, and then moves up for its final inspection. All aspects of the repair are inspected and tested to insure they are all functioning properly. Now that all repairs are complete to our satisfaction, it is time for you to get your vehicle back.
Step 7 - Pick up your vehicle!
